Arte de la Montaña is the personal studio of Andrea “Pelusa” Montaña, a painter working across acrylic, oil, pen, pencil, alcohol markers and pastel. “Pelusa,” Spanish for fuzz, has been her nickname since birth, when her first hair grew in soft and downy. It sits happily beside the teddy bear that keeps wandering in and out of her work.
Her work has been admitted into respected institutions, among them Parsons School of Design, and was shaped under the mentorship of Lina Sinisterra, a CollegeBoard recognised multimedia artist.
The catalogue gathers studies and finished pieces made between 2020 and 2026, from quick pen sketches of city life to large acrylic canvases of skylines. Her hand stays deliberately childlike, an open and unguarded way of seeing.
Every piece here is real, painted by hand, and lives in the studio until it finds a home. Use the Order page to enquire about any of them.
Influences
From childhood memories of the desert and the high sun to years inside global classrooms, the work draws on travel, family stories and the textures of paper, canvas and clay. Animals return again and again, from the ladybug to the Andean bear that gives this site its mark.
